Emanuel Newton Emanuel Newton , who lost his Bellator MMA light-heavyweight title to Liam McGeary at this past month’s Bellator 134 event, is now suspended following a failed drug test due to marijuana. The Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulations, which regulated the event on Feb. 28 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., suspended Newto 90 days and fined him $3,000. TheMMAReport.com first reported the failed test. The former champ must also submit a clean drug test when he reapplies for a fight license, the report stated. The report cited MTDAR Director Mike Mazzulli, who said a post-fight urine sample from Newton aroused suspicion.
