Filed under: News , UFC Michael Johnson PORTO ALEGRE, Brazil – Michael Johnson  hardly took a backward step during his three-round battle with Edson Barboza , who took an awful lot of lateral and very few forward ones. In the end, that raw aggression apparently made an impression on the judges, and Johnson (16-8 MMA, 8-4 UFC) took the unanimous-decision victory (29-28, 30-27, 30-27) over a durable Barboza (15-3 MMA, 9-3 UFC). The lightweight bout co-headlined today’s UFC Fight Night 61 event at Gigantinho Gymnasium in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass. Johnson made his intentions clear early on in this fight, and he immediately went on the attack, forcing Barboza into a backpedal that would continue for the majority of their 15 minutes in the cage together
