Filed under: News , UFC PORTO ALEGRE, Brazil – While no out-of-competition drug testing was conducted ahead of this weekend’s UFC Fight Night 61 event, the Brazilian athletic commission that oversees UFC events in the country is anticipating a quick change to its pre-fight screening process. “There has been (discussion regarding the potential of out-of-competition tests for future events), and we will start this new protocol already in the first half of the year,” Comissao Atletica Brasileira de MMA (CABMMA) rep Cristiano Sampaio today told MMAjunkie via email. Sampaio also said that while out-of-competition testing was not conducted for UFC Fight Night 61, all 24 athletes on the card will be urine tested at the venue on fight night before the event starts. “UFC Fight Night 61: Bigfoot vs. Mir” takes place Sunday at Gigantinho Gymnasium in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil
