Filed under: News , UFC Benson Henderson doesn’t intend on setting up shop in the UFC welterweight division beyond a temporary pitstop for Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 60 headliner with Brandon Thatch. Henderson (21-5 MMA, 9-3 UFC), a former UFC lightweight champion, had previously expressed a desire to fight at welterweight, but he never competed in the weight class. When proposed with the opportunity to meet Thatch (11-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) as an injury replacement on two weeks’ notice , though, Henderson couldn’t help but accept. “It’s definitely not permanent moving up to 170,” Henderson said Friday on AXS TV’s “Inside MMA.” “It was more of a one-time thing. I’ve asked to move to 170.
