Diego Brandao and Jimy Hettes Despite their fight cancellation, Jimy Hettes and Diego Brandao left Saturday’s UFC 183 event with a few more bucks in their pockets. Just prior to the start of Saturday’s UFC 183 pay-per-view event, the organization announced a UFC Fight Pass-streamed prelim between Hettes (11-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) and Brandao (18-10 MMA, 4-3 UFC) had been canceled . However, according to UFC President Dana White, both featherweights received their fight purses (“show” money). The fighters were scheduled to close out the online portion of the card before a shift to FOX Sports 1 for the remaining prelims. However, right before the event kicked off at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena, UFC officials confirmed the bout had been nixed. “Having experienced a medical issue backstage, Jimy Hettes has been ruled out of tonight’s fight by doctors and commission officials,” a statement read.
