Filed under: Featured , Featured Videos , News , UFC , Videos In a new video, retired MMA legend Wanderlei Silva blasted the Nevada State Athletic Commission for its handling of drug testing and fighter licensing. “Instead of regulating it, you are damaging the sport,” said Silva, who this past year was issued a lifetime ban for evading a drug test. “You should protect the equality and the safety of the fighters. But you don’t know what you’re doing.” Silva first expressed his support for UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones , who earlier this week reported to rehab after a random NSAC drug test found cocaine metabolites in his system. “You will step out of this and use this as a lesson for many people who have the same problem,” Silva said. “Keep being the great champion that you are.” However, the former PRIDE champ took issue with the commission’s handling of out-of-competition testing for UFC 182, taking the commission to task for finding a drug of abuse for which they could not administratively take any action.
