Phil “CM Punk” Brooks Phil “ CM Punk ” Brooks will prepare for his UFC debut by training with some MMA notables at a high-profile camp. The former WWE star, who’s targeted for a highly publicized MMA and UFC debut in the second half of 2015, will venture to Milwaukee to train at Roufusport with the likes of UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis, ONE FC welterweight champion Ben Askren, veteran heavyweights Matt Mitrione and Ben Rothwell, and others. UFC President Dana White confirmed the plans while on Tuesday’s edition of “FOX Sports Live.” “He’s picked a training camp,” White said. “I’m pretty sure he’s going to be training with Anthony Pettis, the 155-pound champion, and his team. “We’re just going to see how he progresses in training, and then we’ll go from there.” Punk no doubt brings some interest to the UFC , but his sorely lacking experience is going to present challenges to UFC matchmakers, who are unlikely to book him against an established name.
