Josh Samman LAS VEGAS – For a while, it looked like Josh Samman would be smothered on his way to a decision loss against “The Ultimate Fighter 19″ middleweight winner Eddie Gordon . Gordon (7-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC), though, couldn’t take advantage of his wrestling advantage, and after a second standup in the second round, Samman (11-2 MMA, 2-0 UFC) capitalized in devastating fashion. The middleweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC 181 event at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following additional prelims on UFC Fight Pass and ahead of the main card on pay-per-view. The fight came to an end at the 3:08 mark of the first after Samman, who returned to the octagon after a 19-month layoff, planted a head kick on Gordon’s chin. Gordan was out the moment the strike connected and landed hard on the canvas.
