In two fights for Invicta FC , veteran women’s 135-pound fighter Tonya Evinger has proven herself to be one the promotion’s premier athletes. Following a unanimous decision win over Sarah D’Alelio in late 2013, Evinger returned to Invicta this past September and submitted Ediane Gomes with a vicious armbar in the first round of their bout. “I did a full eight-week training camp and I think I came out and performed well,” said Evinger of her win over Gomes. “I did a lot to get ready for that fight because I knew I had to win to get a shot at that Invicta belt.” Normally Evinger has shorter training camps, usually lasting around a month, so having more time to prepare for Gomes made a noticeable difference in her eyes. “I definitely feel like I was in better shape,” Evinger told MMAWeekly.com. “I think I fight well no matter what, as long as I’m training, I’ll always perform really well
