After winning the interim title in Mexico, Fabricio Werdum will likely get a chance to unify the UFC heavyweight belts back there in June. UFC President Dana White confirmed the tentative plans during Monday’s “UFC: The Time Is Now” press conference in Las Vegas. During the fan and media event, the organization laid out its full 2015 schedule , and White suggested a Mexico event will take place in June. Werdum (19-5-1 MMA, 7-2 UFC) scored a second-round TKO victory over Mark Hunt this past weekend at UFC 180 in Mexico City, which marked the UFC’s debut in the country. Hunt replaced reigning champ Cain Velasquez (13-1 MMA, 11-1 UFC), who suffered a knee injury three weeks prior to pay-per-view event, and ultimately lost to Werdum
