UFC 180’s headliner saw the third interim heavyweight champion in company history crowned as Fabricio Werdum (19-5-1 MMA, 7-2 UFC) stopped Mark Hunt (10-9-1 MMA, 5-3-1 UFC) with a flying knee and punches in the second round. Mexico City Arena was the scene of Werdum’s triumph, as “Vai Cavalo” emerged victorious in the pay-per-view headliner to win the interim belt and once again solidify a chance to face Cain Velasquez for the undisputed title.
