Before he became a world champion grappler and undefeated UFC fighter, Gilbert Burns struck a deal in an auto shop that eventually set the path for his future endeavors. More specifically, it was Burns’ dad, who at the time was an auto-shop upholsterer, who worked out a bit of a barter. Burns, who fights tonight at UFC 179 in his native Brazil, was hanging around the shop with his brothers, as they often did to help out their dad. However, one man brought his car into the shop, and something in the backseat caught the three boys’ attention.
