UFC middleweight Cung Le (9-3 MMA, 2-2 UFC) today released a statement for the first time since the UFC rescinded his one-year suspension for an elevated level of human growth hormone in the wake of his UFC Fight Night 48 loss to Michael Bisping. In a statement released to MMAjunkie, Le said he is “extremely happy” with the promotion’s decision to reverse its punitive action toward him, but added that a statement released yesterday that announced the news fell short of the mark. “While I feel vindicated in this matter, the UFC’s press release does little in the way of an apology of which I believe I am rightly owed after unfairly enduring the public’s scrutiny,” Le wrote. Le did not say what his next step would be. In a previous interview with MMAjunkie, his manager, Garry Ibarra of the AMR Group, said retirement was a “possibility” but wasn’t able to say what the 42-year-old fighter would do. Included in Le’s statement today was a follow-up from Ibarra, who again called the UFC to task for the way it handled the case.
