On the surface, it sounds bad. A fighter debuting in the UFC, the world’s largest and most successful MMA promotion, has to get on the Internet to raise enough money just to make it to fight night. That was the initial takeaway once people discovered Nina Ansaroff ’s GoFundMe page, anyway. It was also not quite the whole story, according to Ansaroff (6-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC), whose first UFC fight is slated for Nov. 8, when she takes on Juliana Lima (6-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 56 in Uberlandia, Minas Gerais, Brazil. “A couple people looked at it the wrong way,” Ansaroff told MMAjunkie.
