MMAjunkie today learned that Thiago Alves (20-9 MMA, 12-6 UFC) will meet Jordan Mein (29-9 MMA, 3-1 UFC) at the Jan. 31 pay-per-view card, according to a source close to the event, which takes place in Las Vegas and is headlined by ex-middleweight champ Anderson Silva vs. Nick Diaz. The source asked for anonymity because he was not publicly authorized to discuss the bout. UFC execs later officially confirmed the booking.
