Gagnon (12-2 MMA, 4-1 UFC) continued his hot streak by submitting Roman Salazar (8-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC), who took the fight on five days’ notice, with a first-round rear-naked choke. The bantamweight bout opened up the main card of today’s UFC Fight Night 54 event at Halifax Metro Centre in Nova Scotia, Canada. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on FOX Sports 2 and UFC Fight Pass. Gagnon opened with a kick, and Salazar tried to look for an opening to take the fight to the canvas.
