HALIFAX – Olivier Aubin-Mercier wanted to show off his striking a little bit, but in the end, he went back to his bread and butter. Aubin-Mercier (5-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) got Jake Lindsey (9-2 MMA, 0-2 UFC) to the ground in the second round, then flipped over for a combination of an inverted triangle choke and shoulder lock to force the tap. All five of Aubin-Mercier’s wins have come courtesy of chokes. The lightweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC Fight Night 54 event at Halifax Metro Centre in Nova Scotia, Canada.
