Most fighters under contract with the Viacom-owned Bellator MMA look at the promotion’s new tournament-free structure as a positive, but Rafael Silva isn’t so sure. Although several regulars have argued the merits of single fights, pointing mainly to the benefits of preparing for one bout instead of three within a short span, Silva (21-4 MMA, 2-1 BMMA), a winner of Bellator’s “Summer Series” bantamweight tourney, said the new format makes his career less certain. “It was nice to be in the tournament system,” he told MMAjunkie. “We could fight every 40 days.
