As welterweight MMA veteran  Jesse Taylor (27-10) points out, his grinding, wrestling-based style works pretty perfectly for a one-night eight-man tournament. Provided he gets his opponents to the mat, and maybe even submits a few early, fighting for 45 minutes is doable. Now, that’s the best-case scenario. As he also pointed out to MMAjunkie Radio, his fate could depend largely on the luck of the draw — the promotion is slotting the first round of matchups via random draw, which took place Thursday. Taylor was paired up against Trey Houston (10-2) in the opening round, which takes place tonight at BOK Center in Tulsa and streams via online pay-per-view, available to purchase and view at MMAjunkie. “It’s kind of the luck of the draw,” Taylor said.
