There’s some good news for those of you anxious to see lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov back in the cage. The personable 26-year-old Dagestani fighter, who was forced to the sidelines in July with a torn meniscus, recently met with doctors and is now targeting a March return to the cage. As he wrote on Twitter : With doctor Kvitne he told me I'm ready to fight in March,thank you for support @lorenzofertitta @danawhiteufc @ufc pic.twitter.com/PQzEVSYT8b — khabib nurmagomedov (@TeamKhabib) September 30, 2014 Nurmagomedov (22-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC), who’s ranked No. 3 in the USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA lightweight rankings , had just signed to fight Donald Cerrone at UFC 178 when he suffered the injury in July. Nurmagomedov, who’s undefeated in his six-year career, has quietly racked up a six-fight UFC winning streak, most recently outpointing Rafael dos Anjos in April at UFC on FOX 11. And yet, he’s struggled to find willing opponents , according to UFC President Dana White.
