It doesn’t appear Ben Askren and the world’s largest MMA promotion are any closer to joining forces, but for at least one day, he donned some UFC gear. The outspoken ONE FC welterweight champion and former Bellator titleholder, who’s often quibbling with UFC President Dana White (when not fussing with MMA broadcasters ), recently headed to Las Vegas as a guest coach on “The Ultimate Fighter 20.” Askren (14-0), who’s ranked No. 7 in the USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA welterweight rankings , trains with Duke Roufus’ Milwaukee camp, Roufusport. Teammate and reigning lightweight titleholder Anthony Pettis is a head coach on “TUF 20,” which debuted this past week, and he apparently enlisted Askren, a two-time NCAA Division I national wrestling champion and 2008 Olympian. Team Pettis cast member Felice Herrig posted the following image (via Instagram ): With the “TUF 20″ gig in the books, could this finally mend some fences between Askren and the UFC? Not likely.
