Seven years after he was unceremoniously let go as head of New Jersey state athletic commission, Larry Hazzard is getting his old job back, he today told MMAjunkie. Hazzard, a former boxer and jiu-jitsu practitioner who played a pivotal role in early MMA regulation, said he will replace Aaron Davis as the commissioner of the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board. He starts on Sept. 22. “My immediate goal is to try to establish New Jersey once again to the status that it once was in the boxing world,” he said.
