LEDYARD, Conn. – Nik Lentz didn’t get to compete at UFC Fight Night 50 on Friday. Still, the featherweight will go home with his show money, his win money, and 20 percent of his opponent’s show money, all without stepping in the octagon. UFC Senior Director of Public Relations Dave Sholler told MMAjunkie after Friday’s event that the UFC will pay Lentz (25-6-2 MMA, 9-3-1 UFC) as if he fought and won, and he’ll also get the 20 percent of Charles Oliveira ‘s show purse that he was set to earn as condition of Oliveira not making weight on Thursday. On Friday afternoon, mere hours before UFC Fight Night 50 was to begin at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Ledyard, Conn., Oliveira (18-4 MMA, 6-4 UFC) was yanked from the fight with Lentz when he was deemed not healthy enough to compete due to what his team branded as a viral infection
