Now, Burns (3-0), a Brazilian grappling specialist (and the younger brother of UFC fighter Gilbert Burns), meets Japanese knockout artist Hiroshige Tanaka (10-1) on Friday at “ONE FC 19: Reign of Champions” at Dubai World Trade Centre in the United Arab Emirates. Burns, whose featherweight bout streams in North America as an online pay-per-view, moved around Brazil (where he often trained with lifelong friend and UFC contender Rafael dos Anjos) before a move to Sweden and eventual home at Evolve MMA in Singapore. “I’ve been in Singapore for nine months this time around,” he told MMAjunkie. “I was invited by their black belt jiu-jitsu instructor, Bruno Pucci.
