While Cung Le is just days away from a hugely important showdown with Michael Bisping, the veteran middleweight fighter still managed to find time before his bout to help those in need. Prior to his arrival in Macau for Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 48 showdown with Bisping (24-6 MMA, 14-6 UFC), which streams on UFC Fight Pass, Le (9-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC) made a stop in his native Vietnam. He traveled to his birthplace with a goal in mind: to donate a large portion of his sponsorship money to a local orphanage. “I spent my day off going to this orphanage that was part of a temple,” Le said. “Basically, instead of taking the money from (my sponsors), I spent the money and bought a ton of rice and toys and candy, and gave the abbot there the rest of the money.” Le said the children in the orphanage are mostly inflicted with nerve damage and brain swelling.
