With the loss of its original championship co-headliner, UFC 177 has a new co-main event for the pay-per-view lineup. On Tuesday, officials announced that a planned title fight between flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson (20-2-1 MMA, 8-1-1 UFC) and Chris Cariaso (17-5 MMA, 6-4 UFC) has moved from UFC 177’s co-headliner slot to UFC 178’s main event. The move followed the recent rescheduling of light heavyweight champion Jon Jones (20-1 MMA, 14-1 UFC) vs. Daniel Cormier (15-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC), which moved from UFC 178’s headliner to UFC 182 on Jan. 3.
