Swanson (21-5 MMA, 6-1 UFC) topped Jeremy Stephens (23-10 MMA, 10-9 UFC) in a fight that was closer than the final scores might have otherwise indicated, with each fighter taking momentum shifts in the UFC Fight Night 44 main event. But ultimately, Swanson took a unanimous decision over Stephens, winning his sixth straight at welterweight – and perhaps setting himself up for the winner of Jose Aldo-Chad Mendes in August.
