Former Olympic gold medallist Satoshi Ishii will look to further his claim to being one of the best heavyweight fighters in the world when he takes on UFC, Pride and K-1 veteran Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic in the main event of IGF’s upcoming August card. The event is set for the Ryougoku Sumo Hall on Aug. 23 and will see Ishii (12-2-1) put his eight-fight winning streak on the line against an opponent who has legendary status in the sport, but has struggled in recent fights. Cro Cop (28-11-2-1) turns 40 later this year and has won only one of his last five fights, but he remains a devastating striker and that makes him a dangerous opponent for Ishii, who is still primarily a Judoka.
