BERLIN – Chael Sonnen may have to cut weight to fight UFC 175 replacement Vitor Belfort , but he may not get the same opportunities with a win. UFC President Dana White today said that the promotion is targeting the July 5 pay-per-view co-headliner for middleweight, not light heavyweight, as Sonnen reported earlier this week. And while Belfort (24-10 MMA, 13-6 UFC) will be in line for a title shot, Sonnen (28-14-1 MMA, 7-6 UFC) isn’t necessarily the next contender if he wins. “I’m not saying he’ll get a title shot, but it will be big for him,” White told Fighters Only . “The fight has been made at middleweight though, so, we’ll see what happens.” Sonnen passed along news of the withdrawal of Wanderlei Silva ‘s (35-12-1 MMA, 5-7 UFC) and Belfort’s installment on earlier this week on “UFC Tonight.” He said the bout would remain at light heavyweight, as originally contracted.
