Maldonado (21-6 MMA, 4-3 UFC), who saved Saturday’s TUF Brazil 3 Finale event with the late-notice booking , has a tough task ahead of him. The Brazilian faces one of the heavyweight division’s top contenders in Miocic (11-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC) while also giving up significant size. But if it were up Maldonado, a tough-as-nails brawler who’s posted records for striking output during his UFC tenure, Saturday’s FOX Sports 1-televised bout at Sao Paulo’s Ibirapuera Gymnasium could be the first of many big challenges. As he told MMAjunkie, he’s wanted all of the light heavyweight and heavyweight division’s biggest sluggers, including the likes of Anthony Johnson and Pat Barry
