LAS VEGAS – Takeya Mizugaki picked up his fifth straight octagon win and ended the streak of Francisco Rivera in a gritty fight. Mizugaki (20-7-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC) rocked Rivera (10-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC) early and refused to cede ground as punches came in bunches, picking up a unanimous decision after 15 minutes. The bantamweight fight was part of today’s UFC 173 main card at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It aired on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass. The final scores were 30-37 twice in favor of Mizugaki, while a third judge gave Rivera one round for a 29-28 score for the Japanese fighter, who picked up his 20th career win and eighth in the UFC.
