CINCINNATI – Dana White may not be quite ready to grant Matt Brown a title shot – yet, anyway – but he is pretty sure he’s got a brand new superstar on his hands. Brown (19-11 MMA, 12-5 UFC) on Saturday won his seventh straight fight in the UFC’s welterweight division with a “Fight of the Night” and “Performance of the Night” TKO of Erick Silva (16-5 MMA, 4-4 UFC) in UFC Fight Night 40′s main event. The third-round win was nothing short of an instant classic, with Brown battling back from a bad spot in the first in which he nearly was finished, only to beat Silva up badly enough that he was carried from the octagon on a stretcher and sent to the hospital. After the fight, Brown was ready to state his case for a title shot in front of his home state fans in Ohio.
