CINCINNATI – Despite a few brief scares here and there, Neil Magny (10-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC) managed to neutralize and outwork Tim Means (20-6-1 MMA, 2-3 UFC) en route to a unanimous decision victory (29-28, 29-28, 30-27) after three close rounds. The welterweight bout was part of the main card of today’s UFC Fight Night 40 event at U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on FOX Sports 2 and UFC Fight Pass. Between Magny’s lanky counter-striking and the constant threat of takedowns, Means never seemed to get comfortable enough to put his full arsenal on display. Although Means managed to trap Magny up against the fence at several points, he was unable to do much with it, letting his opponent off the hook at several key moments when it seemed he might be on the verge of taking over
