“Smilin” Sam Alvey (22-5) survived an early barrage from a tough Wes Swofford (9-5) and rallied back for a one-punch finish to retain the MFC middleweight title. The bout served as the headlining contest of Friday’s MFC 40 event, which took place at Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and aired in the U.S. on AXS TV.
