Deep 66 sees the long running Japanese promotion enter the digital age with an April 29 card at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, which features no fewer than five title fights and will be available to purchase as an online PPV for approximately 10 USD. The main event sees Satoru Kitaoka (32-13-9) defend his lightweight belt and he will also be looking to bounce back from a disappointing recent defeat on the IGF New Year’s Eve event when he takes on Naoto Miyazaki (10-2-3). The penultimate fight will be for the 145-pound belt with reigning champion Kazunori Yokota (19-5-3) taking a seven-fight winning streak into his bout with Katsunori Tsuda (8-2-1), who is coming off three straight stoppage wins. Light heavyweight champion Yoshiyuki Nakanishi (13-3-0-1) barely scraped past Young Choi in his most recent outing and will be looking for a much more emphatic performance when he defends his title against Shunsuke Inoue (14-7-2). Deep’s bantamweight title has been vacant since Daiki Hata’s retirement and a new champion will be crowned on April 29 with Takefumi Otsaka (16-12-1) looking to defeat Kenji Osaka (20-10-2) for the second time, having beaten him by split decision at a Dream event in 2011. Ryo Chonan’s recent retirement left the Japanese promotion without a welterweight champion and Taisuke Okuno (12-7-2) and Yuta Watanabe (17-5-4) will have the opportunity to fight for the vacant belt.
