After more than two years away from the organization, Anthony Johnson made a successful return to the UFC with a unanimous decision win over Phil Davis in the UFC 172 co-main event on Saturday night. The matchup of light heavyweight contenders saw Johnson (17-4 MMA, 8-4 UFC) use his superior striking skills to become the first man to ever out class Davis (12-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC) on the feet in MMA competition. Johnson was not even in the 205-pound title picture as of a few months ago, but now that he’s back and holds a huge victory over Davis to his name, “Rumble” is ready to make a run at the belt.
