Glover Teixeira may be a considerable betting underdog to Jon Jones ahead of their UFC light-heavyweight title bout on Saturday at UFC 172, but in the mind of the challenger, he’s actually the favorite. “There was no way I was going to be the betting favorite,” Teixeira, a 4-1 underdog, told MMAjunkie. “In my own head, and that of my trainer’s, I am the favorite. But it’s no surprise that I’m not in the eyes of the fans.” A 20-fight winning streak, including a 5-0 run to begin his UFC tenure, has catapulted Teixeira (22-2 MMA, 5-0 UFC) into Saturday’s championship showdown with Jones (19-1 MMA, 13-1 UFC) at Maryland’s Baltimore Arena. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
