The UFC returned to Florida on Saturday for the first time in nearly two years on with a loaded fight card at Orlando, Fla.’s Amway Center. Arguably the best FOX fight card to date, the event featured a number significant matchups, but none more important than the main event, in which Fabricio Werdum (18-5-1 MMA, 6-2 UFC) continued to surprise naysayers with a dominant decision win over fellow heavyweight Travis Browne (16-2-1- MMA, 7-2-1 UFC). “Hapa” was pegged as the next major threat to Cain Velasquez’s heavyweight title; however, it was Werdum who emerged as the next challenger by out-striking Browne on the feet and controlling him on the ground. With 18 UFC, PRIDE and Strikeforce bouts under his belt, Werdum’s latest showing was one of his best yet as he set a personal high for significant strikes landed in a bout. That’s just one of many facts to come out of UFC on FOX 11.
