SANTA MONICA, Calif. — Vladimir Matyushenko will retire from professional mixed martial arts following his Friday fight at Bellator 116, he recently told MMAWeekly.com. Matyushenko said – win, lose or draw – that the match-up with Joey Beltran in Temecula, Calif. will be the last of his near-17-year career, citing a need to step away from rigorous training camps and injuries. “The injuries and stuff like that, I can’t [deal with] that anymore,” he said. “That’s why I want to make it my last fight because I don’t think I can take another camp.
