UFC middleweight contenders Lyoto Machida and Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza both emerged victorious following their respective victories at UFC Fight Night 36 on Saturday night in Jaragua do Sul, Brazil. Machida, however, injured his foot during the bout and landed on the medically suspended list. He faces the possibility of being on the sidelines for the next six months, although initial reports out of Brazil indicate it is not likely that he suffered a broken foot as originally suspected. The Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission on Tuesday released the UFC Fight Night 36: Machida vs. Mousasi medical suspensions with every fighter on the card receiving at least a minimum suspension of 14 days.
