Whether they’ve been naughty or nice, gamers won’t find the UFC’s latest video game under the tree this holiday season – but it won’t be too much longer. “EA Sports UFC” will be released in the spring for play on XBox One and Sony PlayStation 4. Earlier this year, it was announced that light heavyweight champion Jon Jones would be on the first cover of the game. A fan vote then was held to determine who would join him on the front, which was won by Alexander Gustafsson – whom he beat in a “Fight of the Year” candidate at UFC 165 in September. In anticipation of the game’s release, EA Sports has released some in-game screen shots of Jones and Gustafsson, as well as former welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre, who recently vacated his title to take an indefinite leave from the sport. EA Sports plans to roll out more fighter announcements and fighter character images over the coming weeks leading up to the game’s release, which doesn’t have a set-in-stone date yet.
