Invicta FC strawweight champion Carla Esparza was scheduled to face the undefeated Brazilian Claudia Gadelha at Invicta FC 7 on Dec. 7, but Gadelha had to withdraw from the bout the day of the event due to illness. While the two ladies didn’t go at it in the cage, they later threw down on Twitter. The exchange began when a fan stated that he thinks Gadelha should fight at 125-pounds and challenge champion Barb Honchak instead of fighting at 115-pounds. Esparza quoted the tweet and stated, “Would b awesome fight.” Gadelha may have thought the quote was from Esparza and responded. @CarlaEsparza1 I fought a lot times in 115lb and had no problem.
