After suffering his first loss late last year, featherweight prospect Julian Erosa rebounded earlier this year in convincing fashion with a win over Jason Gybels at CageSport 24 . “I’d fought him once before and knocked him out, so going into that fight I wasn’t going to say it was easy, but it’s always a confidence booster whenever you’ve beat them convincingly (before),” said Erosa. “So I wasn’t really switching my game plan, I just kind of did the same thing, and I ended up getting him with a submission in the second round. “My plan was to go in there, wear him down, and capitalize on it. That was definitely a boost in the right direction coming off the loss to (Drew) Brokenshire.” Erosa will be looking to get his second straight win and take one step closer to challenging for the CageSport 145-pound title in an eliminator match against Lee Morrison at the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, Wash., on July 6. “They call him the ‘American Bulldog’ for a reason, so I’m sure he’ll get in my face and try to take me down and beat me up, which is fine with me,” Erosa said about Morrison. “I’m used to people trying to take me down and trying to beat me up or sub me.
