Two of Oscar De La Hoya ’s most bitter enemies will be hosting events on Mexican Independence weekend, and he’s already made his pick as to which one he’ll attend. De La Hoya, a retired boxing legend and now promoter, has had long public feuds with boxing champion Canelo Alavrez and UFC CEO Dana White . Alvarez will be defending his WBA, WBC and WBO super middleweight titles against Edgar Berlanga at the T-Mobile Arena, while White will be putting on UFC 306 at the Sphere – both events going down in Las Vegas on Sep. 14. With both events going head-to-head, De La Hoya has chosen to go out of his sport and attend UFC 306 over Alvarez’s title defense. “We’re a week away from the boxing match that nobody asked for, and the UFC event that everyone will be watching,” De La Hoya said on his Instagram
