PARIS – Former UFC women’s strawweight champion Rose Namajunas is officially a flyweight, according to the scales – and she has a stiff test welcoming her to the division. Hours after Namajunas (11-5 MMA, 9-4 UFC) made weight Friday, she squared off with top contender Manon Fiorot (10-1 MMA, 5-0 UFC) in what could very well be a flyweight title eliminator. Namajunas, 31, tests the UFC waters of flyweight for the first time as she looks to work her way toward winning a second divisional title. Namajunas has not competed since she lost the UFC strawweight championship to Carla Esparza by split decision at UFC 274 in May 2022. Fiorot, 33, has quietly dominated her way toward the top of the flyweight division. She rides into the matchup with wins over former title challenger Katlyn Chookagian and Jennifer Maia among other notable names.
