PERTH, Australia – The seventh matchup in UFC history between two current champions is official after Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski made weight for the UFC 284 headliner. At Friday’s UFC 284 weigh-ins, which took place at the UFC host hotel, lightweight titleholder Makhachev (13-1 MMA, 12-1 UFC) and featherweight kingpin Volkanovski (25-1 MMA, 12-0 UFC) both hit the contracted marks Makhachev registered at 155 pounds on the scale for his first scheduled title defense, while Volkanovski was 154.5 pounds for his move up in weight to challenge for a second belt.
