It’s now been two and a half years since Jon Jones most recently stepped in the cage for a fight. Jones (26-1 MMA, 20-1 UFC) defended the light heavyweight title at UFC 247 in February 2020. Two years ago this month, he vacated that belt and said he was moving to heavyweight to chase a title there. But we’ve hit two years, and we still haven’t seen Jones return, let alone even have a fight announced for his return. We’ve long since past the point of the longest layoff of his career.
