Perhaps the fight with the most title implications at UFC on ESPN 29 was the first bout on the main card this past Saturday. In a key flyweight matchup, Alexandre Pantoja scored a submission win over Brandon Royval in a scramble-filled, back-and-forth battle . Days prior to the fight, UFC president Dana White indicated the winner would likely be next in line for the belt. Immediately after the fight, Pantoja (24-5 MMA, 8-3 UFC) politely made his case for a flyweight title shot with Brandon Moreno (19-5-2 MMA, 8-2-2), who was in the building at the UFC Apex. Pantoja, 31, has a couple of wins over Moreno, but there are some cases to be made against him.
