The most shocking news of the past week was that the UFC booked an interim heavyweight title fight between Derrick Lewis and Ciryl Gane to take place Aug. 7 at UFC 265 in Houston. Why was it so shocking? Quite frankly because there’s no other justification for it other than “business decision.” And there’s little question, judging by everyone’s reaction, that undisputed heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou is getting a raw deal by having an interim title fight created so quickly after he won the belt in late March and remains healthy. For guys like Stipe Miocic and Jon Jones , it also can’t be a great thing.
