UNCASVILLE, Conn. – Just three fights into his pro career, Jaylon Bates is starting to call his shots already. Bates (3-0 MMA, 3-0 BMMA) submitted Cody Matthews (1-2 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) with a second-round armbar on the prelims at Bellator 261 on Friday. Afterward, he said he’s the future of Bellator’s bantamweight division – and that he wants a chance to showcase his talent on the same card as dual champion Patricio Freire’s featherweight title defense against A.J. McKee next month in California. Bellator 261 took place Friday at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.
